well its started.... every time i get a new motor i always think its the best ive had yet... it was same with the trol until today.. i decided to paint the chassie with old engine oil to prevent rust ( its cheep and i got 20 litres ). things were going swimingly until i foulnd mud in the wheel arches. it was that bad i thought is was somesort of foam:lol until i stuck the handle of my paint brush in and raked the crap out.. to cut a long ish story short i found 2 holes and im gutted:doh, if theres 2 i have foound they could be more i jus cant bring myself to look..

i think ill be crying myself to sleep tonight:eek:

holes

gutted for you mate

but holes can be filled or welded.

the motor is well worth it if you like it enough

paulp

i will have to weld it as i have only just bought it. need to beg borrow or steel a welder now so i can crack on

Have you unclipped the plastic wheelarch covers, they get full of crap and hold the water in wet weather due to the amount of sh1t in them.
If you aint done that yet prepare yourself:eek:

They are just clipped on, prise them off carefully with a slot head screwdriver.
Be prepared to break a few clips as they get brittle with age.

Have you downloaded the manual zippy posted, if so select body & trim, then exterior and go to page 30
That shows you how to remove the trim.:thumb2

i havent downloaded it as im short of space on the lappy. i will se if i can find it.. i got the welder booked for 1 weeek on saturday so buy sunday it should be ok.. do they fail mot on body holes?

thank you

good job paulllllly is in france cos id fuly expect some clever quote like

buy in haste ....... repent at leisure ...

the best thing to do now is remove all plastic covers and pressure wash it all then do your welding once you know the extent of the damage... once fixed get back to your oiling and wax oil now i guess

Dont beat yourself up over it, it looks and essentially is a great motor. When buying, you cant expect to check everything, or spot everything, its just one of those things!

i would expect that anyway...... but the thing is i didnt check for holes cos im a tit. for some reason i asumed it would be ok...:augie

i no ..i should hang my head in shame. on the up side, i am a welder:thumbs

ahh well in fairness if you can weld its not a big problem, a minor pain in the bum and maybe a couple of days prepping etc.

so all in all could have been lots worse

id still be happy , repairs will cost minimum to put right . and you will know its a goodun when its done

it wont take a couple of days as im just going to get the grinder on and cut the poo off. its only 1 wheel arch ( hopefully) i can weld this up http://www.boxford.co.uk/boxford/ and clean off in 2 1/2 hours, all made from flat.
