is 7 that much better then Clive? I have a pent dual core t4200 2ghz 2ghz, 3gig mem 32 bit vista sp2 with constant updates, is this good enough to run 7, my machine seems to be slowing down as well and I store virtually nothing on the internal drive, just the operating system and programs that I use, all data goes to USB chips and sometimes an external HD, so I can reinstall the operating system on a clean computer very easily, the only downside is I have to download all the MS updates again, as I have not found out how to save and the copy them back, Rick
well, I install this OS on pretty much every machine in our business, so thats hundreds, and the same for all my clients, and its by FAR the best Windows OS to date. Forget vista. Win 7 runs much faster, is more stable, has more useful features and is, well, just better! In our business, its allowing for a much more stable environment than XP or Vista ever gave us, and staff actually make use of the extra features it ships with. We have found it runs very well in deed on low spec hardware, im talking old pentium 4's with 1 Gb ram-these run excellent, so yes, your system will be more than capable. Lets put it this way, I runa simple HP Dual Core pc, with 2Gb ram, and apart from a virus every now and then, i have had NO trouble at all with the OS itself, where before i had constant issues with vista, and constant issues with XP.
Load up times for me, are just about a minute, just over, from pushing the button, to having a desktop i can begin working on, and that a vast improvement over Vista, which for me was taking into the minutes and once in windows, still not useable. I also find that even running multiple apps (office, Lync, IE, remote apps, ts connections, phone manager etc etc) all at once, is handled much better in windows 7 compared to any machines with vista or xp.
I could go on, but i wont.
