So basically I've been looking at much bigger wheels and tyres to fit to terrano. I want the biggest i can get with my 2" lift and id love to know what to do, in terms of cutting or trimming?

I know many of you on here have large wheels, I want to know whats the biggest yet semi sensible option, I'd be really happy with some 33s :D

I've only just got my brand new tyres too....

Lastly and disadvantages? Don't care for noise and economy..

Here in nz it is usually the first thing we do to 4wd's , but the larger radius has more then effects on gaurd clearance.

Diff ratio's, the bigger the tire the more stress placed on the driveline.
Fuel consumption, it will take more horse power to turn them.
Cooling get your radiator cleaned out/ rodded, make sure your viscous hub is in good order. It doesn't take much to get them hot if your stuck and giving it heaps.

Simply put, 33s piece of piss , 2" suspension lift and 2" body lift = loads of room for tyres and articulation. Simple trim as per usual on bumper and inner wing flanges.
33s will be bearable on std diff ratio/power but you'll notice you're effectively a gear short.
Now then 35s, my favorite :sly:sly are doable BUT you'll need to cut into the front of the sill, AND need more power to overcome the diff ratio handicap. It's cheaper to power mod than change ratios by the way .
Every single component will be stressed out to the max so you'll need to do pretty much all my mods to run 35s daily
Discuss :splif

33's easy peasy, i still get around 30mpg aswell, get the big hammer out and hit ya truck a bit till it plays nice :lol

Ok so this is sounding pretty achievable, is the body lift essential? I have a 2" suspension lift but that's it atm.

I was under the assumption the gears are a tad longer as the wheel rotation takes longer per revolution of the engine :nenau

And lastly where can I get someone to hammer the crap outta my truck :nenau

Thanks all!

you will have to teach yourself, if you are planning on modding its a great learning curve will also save you a fortune when you have to replace things

31's are a doddle alex, especially as you have raised your truck already. :thumb2 theres a small seam behind the spray guard(above the mud flap) that needs hammering flat, but again you may be lucky. cut mudflap down middle and screw it back on, or dont put it back on as you choose :D

definately got my heart set on some 33's (if im gonna do it, im gonna do it properly)

with 33's is it just chopping of the grey plastic trims?

anyone got any pictures of the 33's fitted? or any pictures of trimming ect?

heavier use it not a problem, the techs here will help me with routine stuff like bearings and dare I say shafts ect, just not into their modding I dont think (well, not 4x4 modding anyway) :lol

anyone gonna let me drool over a picture of two? :naughty :bow

you will need a body lift and suspension lift to run on 33's without any problems.
a lot depends on your wheel offset also.
I am gonna stick with 8j rims rather than go up to 10j when I put 33's on to try and keep the tyres from sticking out too far.
