Just back from my hols with the Caravan and my exhaust is now starting to blow - its been on for 3 or 4 years now so done not too bad - question is wheres the cheapest / best place for an exhaust - bearing in mind there aint no Kwick fit or budget etc here only McConachies so spoilt for choice or private garages as Main stealer is over 100 mies away.
Probably cost as much now as the truck is worth 02plate with 70k on the clock

which section of the exhaust is the problem? Depending on section needs to be replaced it shouldn't be too costly.

Already welded on the tail pipe to the flange and the pipe from the centre box is thin and has a wee hole and the front pipe stainless flex is bursting so look like the LOT!!!!!

Good try - trouble is I am at the top- They are at the bottom!!!!

Can you purchase off net and have delivered to local garage?

Jim

Shouldn't be too difficult to fit yourself. Have only done rear part of exhaust on mine but only problem was getting off the rusty botls and plenty of wd40 helped out there.

If your doing the whole exhaust then cut the old off in sections with a 4"grinder and thin cutting disc,I wouldn't bother trying to undo nuts and bolts.Straight forward job putting a new one back on (I have done it under car ramps easily enough, probably need a spare pair of hands)

Japanese 4x4 spares for systems.....RING 01926 485222 or 01926 485225 9.30am to 6.00pm MON to FRI.

Had to replace the tail pipe on my Mav on Friday, LWB Diesel, called the local motorfactors £34 inc gasket. Got it in within 2 hours of my call. Can be cheaper but by the time you have travelled and made loads of calls..
Didn't even have to jack the vehicle up.
Those bolts were difficult to undo, in the end they sheared off (M10 bolts), I must have had weetabix for breakfast.

Now would you believe the tail pipe was the original one supplied with the vehicle, 1995, 15 years old is that a record....:thumbs
Bit of a slight confession.... a few years ago when I replaced the middle section, I replaced the tail as well, when I looked at the tail pipe it looked servicable, so a quick wire brush and heat proof paint and it sat in my loft for a few years. One night the tail pipe broke, my wife was amazed that I had a spare in the loft...:clap
I try to convince her that's why I keep ....recyclable items, (she calls it junk:doh).
I had a spare mini windscreen years ago, she came home with a shattered windscreen, and 1 hour later she had a new screen. Took half an hour to clean the algae off it. Didn't have a garage then..:nenau
I was brought up when times were hard, make do and mend was the order of the day.
Some might call me tight ! But I am really Green and Eco friendly, recycle as much as I can... That's my excuse anyhow, WHAT's YOURS ?:lol

Regards, Rustic

Hi

Bought mine from Milners and had a good delivery service to the north of Scotland. I got mounting brackets as well. Milners were much cheaper than I could get locally
