no problem, if you have not got a tap just drill it out oversize and use a nut and bolt, plenty of space on the turbo side for a bolt head, Rick

Rick,

Thanks for the words of inspiration

Not that I am aware, but it would be nice if there were!!

MIJ Performance, pleck road walsall did my centre section and tail in 2.5", and I had a local agri engineers make up the elbow and front pipe in stainless from a removed stock downpipe.

After a morning of work I have now managed to remove the whole system, and with the judicious use of a stud extractor remove the damaged stud. Pretty good news so far...

I now have a minor problem, although it is holding up the job. Could any members advise what size stud I need to buy to replace it. It is about 43mm long and has a diameter of c10mm. I also should replace the nuts as they got pretty messed up in the removal process.

Incidentally it was necessary to remove the short propshaft. Any idea of the torque setting for the nuts and bolts when reinstalling.

Thanks

Alan

Well I'm glad to say the job is finished.

I definitely found this a tricky task, mostly because every nut and bolt was pretty rusty and siezed. 10 years on Britains roads will do that I suppose.

Nice to know you are sorted, at least it will give others the opportunity of doing it themselves or leaving it to an exhaust fitting company, who probably have the same issues but spot weld a stud to the flange when one shears off...:doh
I wonder what that will do next time it is undone....:nenau
