My truck failed her MOT last week, & one of the fails (nothing major.....front drop links, one rear drop link, and a bulb) was a holed front pipe just behind the flexi. I'd been quoted £120 (fitted) for a replacement, but found one for £25 on the Bay of E. 'Sorted', thought I :thumb2
However! When I came to fit it the damn thing was at least 2" short. I'd noticed the flexi section was shorted, but assumed the manufacturer would've made that up on the tubing length. No such luck :banghead:
So, back on it went, with some chemical metal to temporarily seal it. Put the truck in to the station yesterday & just asked them to fit the new pipe and to hell with the cost. Went to pick the truck up and the NEW pipe was again 2" short!!!!:nenau
Long and short of it is the guys welded the existing pipe & didn't charge me a penny, so a shout goes out to McConnechys in Montrose :thumbs
Anyone else experienced this? The manager in the tyre depot said they come across it quite often these days
