After a days green laning on Sunday, i had the miss fortune of the middle section of the exhaust snapping right at the weld to the last box.:doh

So i have to replace it, BUT im thinking of putting a straight through pipe on :augie as im told it will give a little more BHP (And they sound great) but im worried that it could have the reverse effect and lose back presure in the engine.

Has anyone else done this MOD, if so how did you get on and was it any better? :nenau

And my second question for bonus points, my dad has a 03 Terrano 2.7 tdi. Under normal braking the brake peddle is juddering, as if the ABS is kicking in only worse, its doing it all of the time, light, medium and heavey braking. my frist thought was the disk was cracked a warped, but after a quick look they seem Ok, any ideas?

Exhaust straight through :D The best way to go I reckon :naughty You dont want any back pressure on a diesel:thumbs
The power gain will be tiddly too, unless you bin the turbo down pipe:eek:
ABS is gay and so I have no idea about that whatsoever :lol Just pull the fuse on it and see if it goes away:cool:

Sounds as though one of the wheel sensors may have an intermittent connection; causing the ABS control to think that the wheel has stopped rotating.
Connection issues at the rotation sensors have plagued a few folks on here, some have found the wires into the sensors fractured inside the plastic sheath and have effected a repair by cutting back and soldering new wire on, then protecting with heat shrink sleeving.
So... check the connectors AND the wiring to the sensor, but go easy as the sensors are expensive to replace.

dirty or worn sensor give it a clean. if worn i know you can tap the sensor fixing a little to give you a bit of extra life ,

well what do u expect after doing the stanage and also having to tow out a stuck pajero :lol

Got a 6 foot lenth of stainless steel for the straight through pipe. shold i go for a side pipe or out the back though, whats the noise going to be like, dont want to sound like a boy racer. I heard a (its going to kill me to say it) Landrover with one and its sounded like a jet fighter, more of a whoosh than a Bang Bang Bang Bang. :thumb2

Might it have been a v8 per chance?

I remember one past member's Mistral with a straight through stainless exhaust, in my opinion DON'T do it!

It sounded like a canal boat at tick over and just a dreadful noise when revved.

In that case Plank, i may just remove one of the damaged boxs and use the tube to bridge the gap.
