exhaust advice please

been on several sites to buy me a new exhaust system.but for 99-2007 there are 3 different types. two with only middle box but different tail pipes and one with middle and back box. all for 2.7 tdi 8 valve. mines an 02 sport.which do i buy cant match with mine cos 1/2 is somewhere on roadside in leics.any ideas anyone.

Just go somewhere like cats-direct-shop.co.uk and find the one that looks nearest to your current setup.

Given they haven't changed the engine spec on the 2.7 since adding the i/c it almost doesn't matter which version you choose I suspect.

Most car parts suppliers can tell you which one by the reg number, while you are at it ask them for the part numbers.
There are also cross match numbers they are equivilent to, depending on supplier.

Armed with the right part numbers.... time to go shopping.:thumbs

Call Milner, they will sort you out, I suspect the 'sport' is a trim level and has nothing to do with the exhaust. In fact I would go as far as to place a bet on it!

02 should have the single centre box, as they changed on the 99/2000 year from twin central, to single central.

Having just bought a twin central - ebay is the cheapest place so far at £50.

JUST HAD A NEW SYSTEM MADE FOR ME AT PIPECRAFT OVER IN ESSEX THINK adz RECCOMENDED THEM ON HERE BEFORE COMPLETE SYSTEM HAND MADE IN A COUPLE OF HOURS DID AWAY WITH THE 2 CENTER BOXES IN FAVOUR OF A STRAIGHT THREW SINGLE MIDDLE BOX AND POLISHED TAIL PIPE NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ORIGINAL IT HAD BEEN REPLACED A COUPLE OF YEARS BACK BUT THE FLEXI PIPE AT THE FRONT END HAD GONE

indeed i dont mind total cost was £300 i will try and get some photos of it and post them up went to the south coast yesturday and the erm fruity sound in the lanes was addictive lol

You probably find it feels more eager, spools earlier and holds the power higher up the rev band too?

(depends if they kept the OE turbo outlet or not )

to be honest it feels about the same i didnt have them change the turbo outlet they even used the original front pipe as it was still all good just cut out the old flexi and welded a new one on and made the resr of the sysytem up for me, the old flexi was so bad the car was eager as it was and the turbo whistle was getting a bit silly all that said were happy with the results next job on the list is a new clutch going in next week i will get underneath before the winter and wax oil everything then were good to go, the clutch isnt so much worn out as heavey and no its not air or slave cylinder those have all been done its just an old clutch with 110k on it so the engines almost run in then lol
