i am wondering if anyone has cured the common issue of "pulling to the left" with the terrano?
it would be interesting to know some opinions and views also what has been done to recify this problem.
mine is pulling quite severe to the left, apparently it is worse when in 4wd.
it is so bad, to go in a straight line, i have to steer hard clockwise of the steering wheel, and if i let go, i will most definately end up in the nearside hedge or doing a 360 !
anyone who has done some work to resolve the pulling to the left problem, or at least minimise it, i would like to hear what work was done to make the pulling less of a problem.
many thanks in advance.

See my reply on the other thread, but basically wear everywhere.
Check bushes and ball joints etc
I'm running 33s and need to be on the case with steering as it'll eat tyres otherwise:p

cross ref other threads reckon 3/4 of them on broadly same issues mate,
everything been blamed from hubs to father christmas. lol

Mine does it. I have checked bushes, calipers, tyre pressures and bearings etc.

Now i just pull down on the right a bit more :)

hi all

its just cos its chewing up my front tyres thats all. at least its not just me its happening to.
i think i will be taking it to the garage .
ps for everyones info, if you need bushes, they do a poly bush set on ebay. these are supposed to sort useless worn rubber bushes, but i dont think i will be going for them cos there expensive for the set.

I had simillar problem.
Check if your trosion bars are adjusted equally.
Measure from the top of the tyres to wheel arch parked on the flat.
It did solved my problem.:thumb2

Mine pulled to the left a bit and I noticed the tyres were wearing a bit too much on the inside so had it tracked and it was quite a bit out, still pulled left however, then in anticipation of the snow put two new tyres on the front, problem cured let go of the steering wheel and she goes in a straight line unless the road camber is bad, the Mk 1 however wanders all over the place so will be looking at that, poss over the weekend, Rick

As Rick has indicated, its complete bollox that this truck pulls anywhere when properly fettled. If its wearing tyres its out of alignment, either toe-in/out or camber. The former the garage will adjust (but a lot of places are shite, find somewhere with Hunter laser kit, its worth it), the latter needs shimming and is a bit more complex but worth checking if the problem remains.

Similarly, many tyre places can't fit a fecking tyre square so its worth swapping wheels around to see if that makes a difference. In fact sometimes, especially with cheap tyres, I'm told that they can be manufactured poorly

When all is sorted, you will find on some roads that because of camber it wanders VERY slightly to the left but only VERY slightly. When my two are on form they are dead straight hands-off on the motorway, but on side roads they will wander left as indicated, but then in France they do it to the right for obvious reasons.

think that just it, the trucks are loose, so pull to which ever camber you are on.

also need to differentiate between it pulling sterring out of your hands, afterall
got pas so should buffer action any way, and driving no handed at speed.

reckon with pas a finger or two should control it, if really fighting get full
alignment checked.
