Better safe than sorry...:lol

That same effect has panicked Suz a few times, I think being over the turbo, the passenger side does it more than the drivers side.

Have washed the mav and seen steam coming out...

Was only splashed water in the rad heating up.:thumbs

lol, aye. my older cars used to do this in the rain. My old Honda Prelude, with a 2.3i engine used to steam. My Mazda mx6 with the 2.5 V6 used to do it a lot as well in the rain. Id sit there, watching the "smoke" rising, thinking my car was about to overheat and die!

turns out its just water on hot metal....

Ahh jeez it used to get me too especially when I'd just been through some deep water:lol:lol:lol

I'd be lieing if I said I've never freaked out at that :augie

I never worry till i see fire, then i keep going as long as i can.

I once pulled in to a petrol station with my engine of fire, i calmly walked in and ask if i could use their fire extinguisher as my car was on fire.

God, talk about panic........
:lol

On my first long trip last year with my 'new' Terrano, it was raining hard so when I stopped at at junction & 'steam' rose from the bonett I was not too concerned. Two miles later the auto box started acting-up so pulled over in more clouds of 'steam' which turned out to be leaking auto fluid spraying all over the engine! LOL? not at the time, can see the funny side now........ Could have been much worse.
That'll teach me to ignore the early signs of trouble.
