Error code 31..

Hi all,

Well on the way to work today the terrano deciced to give a cough (felt like someone had turned the ignition on and off) and the engine light flashed. Ive done the paperclip test and its given me code 31 which is ECM unit but its running fine and starts on the button, Ive cleared the codes and will check again in a couple of days to see if anything comes back, Does anyone know if 31 is related to anything else or is it looking like the ECU is breaking down .

See if it comes back mate, I've had exactly the same code and symptoms as you once before and found brown stains in my boxers Cleared it and it's never come back and that was at least a year ago :thumb2

Cheers Banshee, Will keep my eye on it for now but its driving fine might be all this damp cold weather think ill spray some silicone spray over the electrics. Forgot to mention as well I found the source of the oil leak.... It was the sealing washers on the oil cooler pressure relief valves some idiot had bodged them with silicone £1.50 later and no more leak.

Yes I have had that, believe it is caused by a temporary hick up in the comunication tween key chip scanner and key chip, poss too many keys and junk on key ring, Rick
