Would it be possible for me to fit a tdi engine into my 93 terrano? Or will I have to replace wiring looms and fit the ecu and all that. Is there any major differences between the 2 engines apart from the intercoolers. ?

the tdi engine is fly by wire , so you will also need to transfer all gubbins

If you put your old pump on the tdi engine will bypass all the electrics not sure how much benefit you will get though

There is less to go wrong with the 2.7td engine than the 2.7tdi.

Tdi owners have had problems with:-
MAF
Crank case position sensor
Throttle position sensor
Etc...

Items that the td doesn't have.

OK the Tdi has more power, less emissions, marginally improved fuel economy.

I would rather have a vehicle that is available 24/7 365 days a year, in all weathers, which for over 17 years, my 2.7td Mav has achieved.:thumb2

ok, thanks for that, i'll see about boosting the power of my td27, im taking it off the road soon so i can sort some rust and fix little niggles, ohh and replace the turbo:doh thats a big niggle:lol

The 2.4 petrol lump will turbo nicely ala Nissan 240sx

Other wise it's serious work to fit anything decent so i've read.

Nissan 300zx lump will go but turbos foul on inner wings so sommit needs doing , also seen small block Chevy v8 conversions on US forums

Yeah but our terranos don't exist in the us, ours are the euro market version.

C200 and h233b axles/brakes

Front and rear shocks and springs the same

I'm pretty sure it's just the body that's different

That's great, I might be able to find cheaper parts for my truck by searching for the Wd21 terrano/pathfinder

if you want more poke get pump opened up and more boost on turbo and fit a front mount intercooler in front of rad, cheap to do and it would piss past a tdi!

Sounds good, is there a workshop on doing those mods, is there a MPG trade off even with carpet slippers on go pedal
