New truck has a slight problem with the engine ticking over at different speeds, anything from around 750rpm to 1200rpm. Tracked it down to the accelerator pedal, when it's ticking over fast I flick bottom of pedal and it slows down again.

Is this the pedal or the pedal position sensor?

I had a problem with my TDi off road motor, the pedal was not returning to the stop and the idle switch was not operating another spring added cured the problem (not to the pedal but to the small cable spool) but have to say when it did this the mill light came on and it would not rev but the other TDi I have has a different set up, maybe this is yours, but try adding another spring to make sure the pedal returns to it's stop, or may be spray with lube, I tried this and it did not work, but as yours may be different it may work, Rick

My 2004 idles a little higher once I have moved off and remains higher even in neutral until the truck comes to a complete stop. It's like it knows when it has stopped moving. Speed sensor or something?
