Engine temp gauge not working....HELP

Hi lads I'm just new on this great wee site, I've said hello etc.

I'm just a pup on the terrano scene after buying my toy last week but there's a couple wee things annoying me :-(.

When I drove it home last week the temp gauge was moving about the bottom quarter of the guage and not settling but since then it doesn't work at all, is this a common fault and an easy fix? I've checked the likes of oil, cooling etc etc and all apear ok aswell as th heater seems to be blowing toasty heat on demand....

Is it just a case of a replacement thermostat or what??

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Look in the manual. Prob in head rear thermostat.

Top front of engine is a housing with hoses coming off it, on the right side of this as you look at it is two sensors, its the smaller of the two
