By the way, you're missing a thermostat housing and you've gone for the pussy pump again :lol

:guitarist: :guitarist:

Have all the parts I need to make a complete engine.
As for the pussy pump.... jealousy gets you nowhere:kiss::kiss::kiss:

Not something I'd even considered until I'd at least seen a pictured write up on here by a trusted member.

Only person that seems to have done a few is that Timbo guy from Telford :nenau

The one on my workbench at the moment is a spare one that I'm going to be resealing with Viton seals to veg proof it :sly

I am currently fitting a mech pump set up :p
I will ofcourse be showing all my doings :naughty

well the time has come for me to finally get underway with swapping the tired lump and replacing it with the one i bought off Rick earlier in the year.
Been swatting up on the manual and talking to various folks i know who are pretty clued up with the 2.7 tdi lump.
From what i understand i do not need to remove the automatic transmission to pull it out.
Been a long time since i worked on an auto so i'm learning it all again.
From what i can make out i need to remove the starter and inspection plate giving access to the torque converter, remove that and slide back out of the way, remove bell housing nuts and bolts and i should be good to go:nenau

Good luck :thumb2

Nice to see it getting started :)

Yep you do not even have to drop the front diff, as you do on a manual, this is because the engine does not need to come forward much to get it out, just make sure you remove the 4 drive plate bolts before the bell housing ones, that way you will not risk damaging the drive plate, Rick

This guy knows his Terrano's :thumbs

The guy who came to scrap what was left of the 2005 LWB that I was breaking offered to pull the lump out and lift it onto a pallet on the back of my trailer on the drive, he got here and we realised that the front diff had to come out otherwise the input shaft on the gearbox doesn't have enough clearance to pull the engine forward and out, as he was on the clock and local, I trusted him to take the whole thing away and he offered to cut the front diff out and remove it for me.

He was good on his word and I now have the engine which will be going up for sale soon when I'm home, 91k with working clocks (no display segments missing) ECU, Ignition Barrel, TCU Module and Immobiliser

Elty I still have those big end nuts. How many did you want again and where to butt ?

I only need two mate:thumb2
no rush for them as i'm robbing them from the one thats coming out.
will need them when i re build the old lump but no urgency on that one.

Made a start this afternoon:thumb2
Was going well until i came to remove the torque converter.
Not much room to access the bolts so i had to get creative and modify a 14 mm socket.
