Hi guys.
I have been having sooo many issues recently with my 2001 2.7 5dr tdi Terrano.
It started with the engine light coming on, and the vehicle going into limp mode ... I let it stand for a while, fiddled with the wiring, I.e. checking the connections, and it magically sorted itself out.
During the coming weeks/months, I noticed that it would occasionally hesitate, and fart out white smoke, and as quickly as it happened, it seemed to sort itself out. Occasionally the engine light would come on, but turning off the ignition, and turning it back on, got rid of the light.
It has eventually got to a point where there is almost no reaction from depressing the accelerator. I took it in to a local mechanic, who advised it needed a service, so I booked it in. R6000 (aprox 356.59 pounds) later, filters n stuff done, including a set of rear brake shoes, and the damn thing was still faulty. I was advised that I needed to take it to Nissan directly, as they couldn't find the fault.
I booked it in this morning, and was unpleasantly surprised to be presented with a quote of R 102 000 (approx 6061.97 pounds) for the replacement of the injector timing pump and the no 1 injector + labor ... these guys must be out of their trees :/
Not sure if this means anything to anyone, but these 3 items were listed under the engine section of the diagnostics ...
P0100 : MAS AIR FLOW SEN = 0
P1242 : NEEDLE LIFT SE(RPM) = 12
P1246 : F/INJ TIMG F/B = 32
I can't spend this kind of money on these repairs .. this is crazy !!
Bottom line ... will the Nissan 2.4 petrol engine fit in place of the 2.7 TDI ?? :nenau
Sorry for the long read, and thanks in advance ... please shout if I have left out any relevant info ...
