have a 94 ,2.7 td and went through a puddle that was a bit deeper than thought. The water went up to head lights and turned it off quick . Towed it out and took the air filter out soaked through no water in the filter housing. started first time but now misses a bit about 1500rpm and has white /blueish smoke . apart from that it runs fine no loss of power could it be a bent con rod or valve? It seems to clear a bit when driving but smokey when ticking over any help appretiated cheers.

drove about 3 miles home ran perfect but smokey took filter out to drive home thought it could have been steam at first from the exhaust as it was getting dark but seems no. Think its time to get the head off and see what the damage is and will be getting a snorkel fitted for the next time lol.

wter

you could test the cooling system for carbon monoxide. when my disco played up the AA carried out thetest on the roadside.

Was not the head gasket on mine it was just a heap of s@@t

Most garages will do it.

may save a job

regards paul

took the head off to day and one of the pistons is down so must have bent a con rod . Will be a new engine me thinks will price up a con rod and gaskets and see if its worth rebuilding or replace, its a shame was a good engine too. Need to be more careful next time and will be making up a snorkel.

Through the bulk head is defo the best :clap

But will take more work than external

I still can't make up my mind which to do :doh

Got all the bits :D

extreme raised air is the only way to go:D

I know but its the time & me wanting it done on the quick :augie

External will only require 1 70mm hole in the wing plus a load of rivits...

Internal will be 2 70mm holes & a load of mods to look nice...

But...

It will be done by the next visit :thumbs
With step by step pics & instructions :thumbs
