Hi All
Terrano only starts occasionally hot or cold without giving it a bit of throttle. I replaced glow plugs in November with Bosch .advice appreciated

Fuel next bud replace filter and if 2.7 check filter in banjo on main pump nig 17mm bolt ontop of pump but be careful not to loose the 2 copper washers

Hi madmark
are you saying I have an air leak in the diesel filter

Hi Madmark

Thanks for replying the engine runs great when it starts so I decided to let it develop and today where back to normal I blame the gremlins

My starting problem came back but this time engine turns over but won’t start called mayday. Recover man got his mustimeter and told me it the solenoid fuel shut off I have had that replaced and the motors starts ok now

Isn't that on the pump? :nenau

If so how involved a job was that? As my EML code 21 that I get has that as a possible cause in the workshop download and is the only thing that I haven't replaced yet

Hi banshee

On my motor looking at the engine peering over the o/side wing it seems to screw into engine block I didn’t do the job I just picked it up from the garage it starts ok know I will let you know how it goes

As far as I remember the solonoid is on back of pump screwed in above injector pipes. You'll see I on your spare pump banshee

bansheeeeeeeeeeeee did you get the ip of off the breaker you was going to?how did it work out?

Hi all
I have another starting problem I have to turn the key slowly then it will fire up so from postings I have read it could be ignition switch I have removed the steering wheel cowling it the object hanging on the ignition barrel the ignition switch there wasn't screw hold it I can just lift it of the barrel

I took a photo

The switch should be held on to the bottom of the ignition barrel with one screw.

Hi jims-terrano

Is this plastic box with seimens written on it the ignition switch. There was no screw holding it to the barrel

to me that looks like a later than NATS 2 key chip reader, it is not the switch contacts, this will be on the end of the barrel with much heavier wires, Rick

Yeah I agree with Rick, that'll be transponder reader. The switch is directly at the bottom of the lock cylinder, if you imagine the key inside the lock the switch would be almost touching the tip of the key.
