Mine is a 3.0 so does not have a mini filter.
I tried to change the fuel filter earlier tonight but I think it must be welded on, i could not budge it even with a extension bar on the strap wrench

Get it changed for a good make of filter, I always fit genuine filters and see if it helps.

Is this the origional filter. If so its probably your problem. If its one you have recently put on did you smear the ring seal with petroleum jelly. David

It's not the original filter, i changed it about 18 months ago and did smear my ring with oil but the thing just won't shift now

Change it more often. 12 months max or 8000mls. Find a garage if it won't loosen. David.

:thumbs it's 12 months max for the filters, there is a good chance yours has partly blocked, mine did & the thing wouldn't rev correctly once I changed it it's ran great

Well my fuel filter is changed more on Mileage... :augie
oooops..
but not caused me any problems... yet...
Might replace it soon though.
Next time I get some diesel in a can, as I like to fill them first.

now you telling me that you cannot shift it with a strap wrench and a bar, you must be turning it the wrong way or you have not had your shredded wheat for breakfast, Rick

The average mileage in a year is 10-12K for most so a yearly fuel filter change works out about right, I only do 6K a year but for the price of a filter i'll change it every year when it gets it's yearly oil change:augie but if by some chance I start doing more miles then it'll get the oil done twice a year

Well managed to get the fuel filter changed and it runs just as it did before all this started.
And now I have a spare maf.

Well it certainly appears to be, very surprised that a fuel filter you go so quickly, anyway I will know for next time. I was a bit concerned i would not make 150k with it but now looks like I will, only another 2.5k to go.

Well done Banshee, I cannot be having with reading back through the thread, but I will leave it at well done, for apologies only come if I have done something wrong,:D, Rick

I am just glad it's fixed and I can remain a owner and member of the club

I'm only joking guys

We're a team and MAF would have been on my list too be it a little further down

I can't remember on here who always says it but always go with easiest and cheapest first.

Kickboxer, hold onto the MAF, now you've tested it and it's confirmed working someone on here will snap your hand off for it when their's breaks and believe me it will, in the mean time you have a spare, think of it as a good investment :thumb2
