I'm sure that ECUTalk measures the glow plug plug relay on a scale of 0 - 1 (if it's on it's 1, off 0), judging by the age of your vehicle, I reckon you should have the 14 Pin Consult-II connector in the drivers side footwell just underneath your fuse box.

If we could get an adaptor over to you and the software, you could prove some of these theories correct and more, you should also be able to see if the fuel pump is live too at the point you turn the key in the ignition etc :thumb2

Have a look at a thread I did over here with some videos and screenshots;
http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21534&highlight=ecutalk]

Next on your list is to find the plug under the dash and get us a picture :thumb2

OK I might have a Bosch gas pedal, I certainly had a Bosch pumped vehicle that went for scrap but cannot remember if I removed the gas pedal prior to sending it to the smelters, I will have to look in the workshop but not a lot of time at the mo, Rick

Thank you very much Rick! You posted this right after I went to bed :) Whenever time permits you to take a look.

Cheers!

Yes my T2 has the 14 pin connector :thumb2

I have been looking into getting a "Diagnostics Device" of course. It just seems like a jungle to me. Correct software, is it OBD1 or OBD2 and all that good stuff :) ECUTalk sounds and looks good, but I only have Win 10.

I would really like to run diagnostics device on the vehicle. It's getting critical here as winter is coming. I'm not 100% sure the problem is the Accelerator sensor, but it seems like it. I have a YouTube channel and I could actually do a video on the problem and upload tonight and post a link of course :)

Cheers!

If you like, I can get you a laptop with Windows 7 on it, the adaptor and the software installed with instructions ready to go all in 1 box for £100 + Postage? Then you have your own diagnostics rig at hand for future issues?

Win 7? I thought it was running only on XP. Anyway, I will seriously consider your offer! Even if the it turns out the throttle sensor is the problem. :thumb2

I've had it running on 7 and 10 mate, not had any issues and 7 is a solid OS that won't go wrong, let me know and I can get the wheels in motion.

I have a fully working T Reg here at the moment with 14 Pin Consult diag plug so will use this and throw you a little DVD in the box, that way you have some standard readings from a working truck to compare against :thumb2

Video

Ok Gents, here's a video I made today. Among other things, I show how I have tested the Accelerator Position Sensor. There's a lot of other things covered in the video, and not only T2 related things :)

Tried watching it but I have no sound as earphone plug broke in lappy so no good to me till I fix it, will do tests over the weekend as wife's motor is Bosch, Rick

Yay I got a shout out :thumb2 :thumb2 :bow

Wow you have quite a following on YouTube mate :clap

I've never tested a pedal of that type before, mine is a fully electronic one and Bosch the same as this one here;

I presume the pedal on my 99 TDi should be the same as yours there!!! I'll carry out the same tests and report my findings just to ensure your testing procedure is good :thumb2

I know that Rick, was just pointing out that mine was different to his pedal and used the eBay link as a quick reference as it had a picture of my pedal on it :thumb2
