OK Gents.... I have still not managed to solve the electrical problem. It's very strange and I will try and explain here the best I can.
Starter motor turns, but the engine does not start. Everything seems normal, except the glow plug control lamp does not turn on when I Turn the key.
Today I tried to give the glow plugs power directly from the battery + terminal, as suggested by Solarman. I had high hopes for this. None the less, it did not made the engine start. I thought it would work, because when I attached the wire to the glow plugs (as described by Solarman) I saw some sparks at the terminal. Basically I just pulled the plug with the white/blue wire and ran a wire from the battery + to the glow plugs. See pic below.

I think the main problem is that the glow plug relay (see pic) does not get any power. The relay itself works fine when I give it 12V, but there are no power on the blue and yellow wires which should activate the relay.
Here is the layout of the engine compartment fuse and relay box. All fuses should be good according to my multimeter/ Will test again.
My multimeter says this "fuse" is good.
I am starting to think it might be NATS playing tricks on me and my normally very reliable Terrano. Even if I let the starter spin for 15-20 sec. there are no signs of the engine even attempting to run. This is becoming a serious problem for me actually.
Thank you for your time Gents :thumb2
Cheers!
Pics not showing up for some reason....
I know exactly what you are describing, my Terrano does this to me only if I leave the ignition on for any longer than say 5 minutes without actually starting the engine.
You kind of just know that's what it is after a few years experience and know to just turn off and start again. The tell tale sign is I find my start spins over a tad faster than normal and doesn't sound as laboured as usual if that makes sense.
Here's one to try!! Have you got another key you can try?
Just a 17mm spanner mate and undo the union on the end of the injector pipe
crack the union 17mm crank engine and diesel should spurt out of the top of nut if it does then fuel is reaching the engine and should start even if glow plugs are not working or a squirt of easy start or clutch cleaner down air intake will fire it up

when i have had a issue with non start and no fuel i spray easy start or carb cleaner in where the air filter is remove clips have someone crank and spray a little in at a time to get it to fire i find that once started after a few min of it running i switch off and mine has been fine i had same problem with mine 2yrs ago i did this and it sorted out not played up since worth a try before having to get a dealer to work on it i was told that by doing this it resets it all not sure how true this is but i have never looked back and started many non starters this way with success

You say you have 3 keys, did they all work for certain? I ask this because when I got my SWB Mav it came with two keys, one was programmed the other was not, it was kept simply as a spare to enter the vehicle manually, however they got mixed up and after I tried to start 3 time with the bad key, NATS locked me out, the only way was to get a car locksmith to re program it, he simply read the key chip then programmed it back into NATS or something like that, took him about 20 mins but he had 45 min journey each way so the £60 he charged was not bad, you do not have to go to Nissan for this, incidentally on UK cars if it is a NATS problem the red alarm light flashes different on the top of the dash, not sure if you have that, if it is not a NATS issue then it could be the stop solenoid on the pump, have a look at Banshee's pump change thread, he has just put up a series of pics of his spare pump, Rick
Yes, i know for certain that all 3 keys work with NATS. I have used them all, but use one as my main key of course.
I checked earlier on the NATS flash. It looks normal.
There is something tricky going on. No power to the glow plug relay and no fuel to the injectors
the two could be linked, do try the 12v to the stop solenoid if that works then you may have a "splice" that has gone bad, this is where Nissan spliced (solder joint) then wrapped it up in the harness, only way to find it is cut the harness open, there is a big one in that harness running along the inlet manifold, thick white wires joined together one of which is the main glow plug supply, and may possibly supply the stop solenoid as well, via a fuse and relay, I never could follow Nissan wiring diagrams, if Rayf is about he will know, or PM him he is a very helpful guy, Rick
