Hi, can you help my Nreg terrano is missing a beat at 2.5/3rpm and when it dus it spits out a puff of smoke! can you point out where to start looking! thanks joe..

fuel filters would be my starting point.

then on to the fuel lines for air leakes

As abve
Maybe an injector
Start with the free checks
Then
Do the basics as above, filter / mini filter ( banjo filter )
Pipes / hoses for leeks
Injectors

Where abouts in Wales are you as there are several members that might be able to help you in person depending how far away you are to each other.....

would that be white smoke ? Got the same problem at cold tick over, just changed the fuel filter on mine and it hasn't made any difference (bit worse if anything). Been told it could be a faulty glow plug or sticking valve.

Test ya glow plug & that will eliminate those :thumbs

Then it might be a valve :nenau

sounds like injectors to me...firstly, get some good injector cleaner and shoveit in, go for a long blast down the motorway and see if it makes a difference AFTER the journey.

Hi, thanks for the reply's. I,v put a new filter in and it's still the same. got no air leaks. Is there more than 1 filter?? It's a 2.7td.

INJECTORS, Rick

Beat me to it :lol but no harm in seeing if the mini filters blocked :thumbs

Must be a catching bug in the 4x4 world with all of these sudden fueling issues :augie :lol :lol :lol

You undo the bolt on top of the pump with the pipe off it

Use a long thin metal pole (welding rod ;)) with a slight u shape bend at 1 end to hook out the sparing & mini filter

It looks like a small thimbel

Did you not look at the linky.?
Its got pics...

http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/downloads/workshop/wk10.pdf

The 1st time you do it i would remove your battery & move the power steering pump so you can see.

( it can be done without moving anything )

Its close to the manifold & throttle on top of the fuel pump

:thumbs

I'm not sure if its on all models or not :nenau

Perhaps " Toolbox " or " cncfabs " could enlighten us :nenau
