Just purchased a Maverick 2.7 TDi SWB 1996.
Trouble is occasionally the throttle seems to stick, at the same time the reddy orange Engine light comes on, the only way past this is to flick the throttle pedal with my boot!
I mean, flick, NOT kick! Catch the edge of pedal with edge of foot press down until it slips off! The jolt seems to clear the problem!

ANY IDEA's ANYONE??????? My missus will not go in car because of this problem and although in some ways that's not a bad thing, it is literally driving me up the preverbial! HELP!

Every cloud has a silver lining, maybe the pedal senor onder pedal. David.

throttle position sender ....... but read the codes anyway as the fault will be stored when the mil was on

Has to be either the tps or the throttle on/off sensor. Also, could liter rally be a sticky springs, so give it a jolly good clean...!

Codes? TPS?

Codes! What Codes?

A friend said I need to find a Nissan Agent and get a Diagnostic done?

And where would I get a Throttle Position Sender? Ebay maybe??

Really appreciate all your replies Thanks.

Codes? TPS?

Sorry to be a bit thick, but where is the Throttle Position Sender?????

I must get a Haynes Manual!

If you look at the pedal, use a torch, start at the bottom, you will see a little black box with two wires from it, that's the pedal position sensor (on / on) and shine furthur up to the top you see a big green springy thing, attached to that, a black devices with two connectors, that's the TPS. Give t all a spray wth electrical contact cleaner for starters. Check your codes via briggies links. Be worth unplugging the connectors and cleaning also...

not much bally good when I go through deep water then, knew I should not have got a TDi for off roading, Rick

Engine Management Light Coming on

Does anyone who is good at this stuff (Cos I'm Crap!) live near Malvern in Worcestershire???? Who might consider giving me a helping hand??????

EGM Light Fault

Well, I removed all the connectors that I could, (Micro switch connections were soldered!) and sprayed loads & loads of Bright Spark over everything I could see, Left it a day to dry out, re-connected everything went for a test drive for 2-3 miles and fault did not appear.
So, as it was "The Dragons" birthday today we took a 85 mile trip down M5 to Brean Sands and took the dogs for a walk on the beach, popped into Weston on way back for lunch and drove back home.
No sign of the fault at all, fingers crossed, I think it's fixed.
Now to other jobs on the list!
