Hello everyone,

I would like to ask if anyone had this problem before.

The engine while on the move cuts off. I can restart no problem, but it happens every few seconds again. I can even switch an ignition off and on while on the move and it restarts well. Also the rev counter when it happens stops working even when car is still going, it goes right down to zero. It seems to me like an electrical problem.

If there are any spelling mistakes, please accept my apologies, I am originally from the Czech Republic.

Any suggestions please?

Thank you

Have you checked the obvious? Air filter clean?

Fuel starvation? :nenau

Maybe, cps. Mine would cut out restart fine and run ok for a while.

ok, I will check all you have suggested and hopefully that will sort the problem. Will let you know in couple days. Thanks.

Hello,

I have found the problem, it was a loose screw just next to the dip stick.

I have also ordered new mud tyres, so looking forward to it.

Thanks guys.

Ooh bad earth. Might be worth checking and cleaning your others as routine maintenance :thumb2

Great diagnosis, and cure.We like cheap fixes.

Hi again,

The Terrano started playing again. First I thought it was the bad earth, but it is not that. Engine cuts off. I can restart no problem. Changed an air filter, cleaned banjo filter.

When it happens the rev counter goes right down, so it looks like an electrical problem to me, because engine doesn't coughs or anything. It runs fine and suddenly dies.

Has anybody had this before?

HEEEEEEEEELP please:confused::confused::confused:

Still sound's like the ignition switch, these are known to break down.

To be honest didn`t check that yet. Will have a go in next few days on the top of re-indexing torsion bars, change leak off pipes and oil and fit a bush plate if I will manage to get rest of the screws which has snapped.

Hello Firebobby,

you were right first.:bow:bow:bow

I am glad you all are very helpful people, don`t know where would I be without you.

Could you let me know if the link with the ignition switch is the correct one , please?

Thank you
