Hi, just to say i cleaned my engine today, wasnt too sure of how was best to do it so i looked on line and found this out
started engine to warm it up, then sprayed degreaser all over , waited 5 mins , covered intercooler, then used the power wash all over not pointing anywhere longer that 3 secs, done while engine running, left it running while it dried out, job done, it did a great job and would recommend anyone to do the same ,perhaps alot of you guys are thinking big deal ! ! but if you have never done this before like me , you think may never start the engine again but no it went fine !:clap and saved myself £25 at leased

I'm wanting to make the engine bay showroom fresh in my t2. What degreaser did u use? I used some cheap stuff but it was crap:rolleyes:

VERY interesting, I think I might try this as I'd like to clean mine and tart it up a bit.

Any other opinions on this method? I have read both good and bad. Some people crone on about getting water forced into the engine etc...and not finding out about it for months...?

hi it was traffic film remover, £10 for 5 ltr, i used a pint of it and sprayed it on, it worked fab my engine came up like new !

Very tricky for water to get into the engine unless you directed water in via the air intake - which I naturally don't recommend.

Power washed my Citroen BX's engine bay a couple of weeks ago. If French electrics can cope with a pressure washer, a NisMav should cope with no bother.
