Hey Guys!

Bought a 1996 SWB Terrano a few days ago!

All has been going well since I did the 200 mile trip home. I have now had chance to look over it and the things I need to sort are a leaking fuel pipe and a slipping PAS pump.

This afternoon however, I went out to the car and started it. It started no problem but it wouldnt rev over 1500 rpm and as soon as 1500rpm was reached the EML came on and cut the revs straight back down to idle.

This happened 3 or 4 times until eventually it cleared and now it seems fine..... anyone have any idea what this could be?

1st read the fault codes, see down load section.:thumbs

Thanks Rustic, will give that a bash tomorrow. I only just got it so after that Ill do all the maintainece I had originally planned, fuel filter, oil and oil filter, EGR delete etc. Was just a little worried by this EML!

Leaking fuel pipe could cause this issue. I'd be fixing that before anything else.

Yea, this is defo the first thing I will do. I have just ordered the tubing off Ebay that has been recommended on here :thumbs

The leak isn't huge though. Maybe a patch about 3" accross in the space of 18 hours parked.

Could be the MAF too , common fault. Could be just a clean needed. Is it hitachi of bosch system.
After that it's a bit guess work till the codes are out :D

could need a new fuel filter, same happened to mine not long back, i would get the fuel line sorted first though

The MAF has already been changed once according to the paperwork but I guess it could be again..... I think I read on the spare TPS I have that its Bosch so I'm guessing the MAF will be too?

Will get some codes out of it tomorrow for you guys! :bow

Unusual as yours is 96 model but not impossible I guess. How long ago was it done? Get the codes then fix it then come and play :D
Always a slot on a Team Wales trip :naughty
