Hi all, went to pick up my wifes 4L from our local garage and I saw he had an English plated Terrano(round headlight type),not sure of year as the plate is a "V"plate but not sure!Anyway I asked him about it as it has been parked up for at 2 weeks. He said it was something electronic on the fuel pump, any ideas with regards parts etc as it could be pricey over here in France?
Thanks in advance:thumb2

Maybe he dont know

EML on? Could try starting it see what happens.

He's pretty good allround so think he knows the problem but parts are the bugbear, also he is inundated with work(always).Could you enlighten me about EML,keep it simple for me as I will have to translate!

you could try reading the codes ..... there is a download for this in quick links :thumb2

I assume he means the fuel injection pump on the engine, as there is no pump in the tank.

If there is no fuel getting to the pump, then it could be corroded fuel lines.

To prove this, place a suitable container of diesel higher than the pump, and try it.

The Tdi has all sorts of sensors, unlike the older 2.7 td non intercooler.

Reading the fault codes should point him in the right direction.

An English reg V plate is a 1999 model & the last year the twin headlight model was sold:thumbs

the TDi is fly by wire pump, no mechanical connections, so read the codes to get a good idea of where the problem is, simple paper clip on the diagnostic plug under the fuse box drivers side, there is all you need to know in the downloads, Rick
