New member here! I've had my my much loved Maverick GLS TD 5 door since new in 1997. Known as "The Bus" she has been amazing. She bats down the motorway, has pulled, carried and towed all sorts of things and gets even this woman driver through snow and mud! In all this time one starter motor, one set of brake pads and a couple of exhausts...that's it! BUT, the drivers window started playing up recently and my (also much loved) local garage says the control module located in the driver's door is the culprit. Problem is the part is no longer available from Ford. Does anybody have any suggestions? I thought to try a Nissan garage but when google searching for one locally, came across this club. Had to join!!! If anybody can help in any way and/or advise the best course of action, me and The Bus would be very grateful. Thanks.

common problem, the switch itself gets dirty and the relay contacts on the control module relay get dirty both are easy fixes, the relay just prises out of the box, once out run some news paper through the contacts with them pressed together (I need to do mine so will be able to give more detail later) if it is the switch again it is stripable but fiddly to get back together you just need to be very accurate when dismantling, clean it up and put it back together, Rick
