Agreed on a fiver, delivered. Cheaper than buying new ones!
Anyway, here's how the fix went. First of all, used a small 10mm socket to get that tricky armrest bolt out. Then gingerly pulled the card off. No clips broke!
Then you need to disconnect this wire, which is tricky as you have to hold the door card at the same time.
Three small bolts on the back of the card allow you to remove the switch. Here it is with the surround taken off (it just clips on).
I then used a small screwdriver to prise the switch apart.
Which reveals this.
The two contact strips were both dirty and worn. I cleaned them up and turned them around, so the little lever in the switch is acting on a slightly different place.
Then it was just reassembly, stopping to put some silicon spray on the window runners. Job done! It only seems to play up when it's damp though. I'm sure it won't be long before I can test that...
those little bulbs with the blue condoms on always blow, i actually fitted new bulbs:augie
