hi guys

ordered a new electric mirror switch well working 2nd hand one anyway turned up this morning and they still dont work ? ?

phoned the seller said the swtch worked perfect before he removed it from the terrano he was breaking

he is a trusted guy ive loads of bits off him in the past and they have all worked without fail.

what could be the problem ?

mirror motor ? but both gone ?

fuse ? i can nly find the mirror switch that says mirror heat

no direct fuse for the mirror motors ?

:confused::confused::confused:

hmmm....bad ground maybe? I would get a meter on the connections first off.

Have a look in the manual, page 132 of the EL section shows the wiring diagram there is a 10A fuse good luck
Fuze 113 is says

I guess clivvy, you have a new meter :lol:lol:lol:lol

Be careful on the mA (milliamp range) on the meter as it is easy to blow the internal fuse.
Never measure across a circuit in the mA range, only in series with a low current circuit...

no idea what that means, but I will look at my meter and try to understand!!

.

hi guys as im on the mob not the laptop at the mo could someone post a link to the workshop manual so i can try and find this fuse..

thanks in advance

paul

.

thanks for the link

any idea where in the truck the fuse may be ?

also the switch has never worked the whole time ive had the truck finally got round to replacing it with anothe switch

looks like its going to be a real pain i hate car electrics

The manual list the location under another number but I do not have a clue I have an old TD so cant help too much, I am a boring old fart who reads manuals having evolved a bit when computers were new & support staff quoted RTFM or even IAEFRTFM

Suggest your first check should be at the switch, is there 12 volts there, it may not be the fuse, if there is then check there is feed to the mirrors, there may be a plug that branches each way.

Looking at page EL 131 it says refer to el-power
Page 290 shows connector D68 in the RH door
This seems to go to connectors labled with a D 43-46 RHD is 45 % 46 linking to B120 & B119 page 282 refers grid D2 D3

OK getting there fuse 113 is referd to on page 16 fuse block J/B
Page 22 suggests door mirror switch connect to harness at B10/B18 what ever that is

I cant find fuse block J/B

Found it I think page 2 but does not say where it is on car:doh:doh

What a daft place to put it in the manual, under
LOCATION OF ELECTRICAL UNITS:doh:doh:doh:doh
Daft place to put it:lol:lol

Errrr... The fuse is in the fuse box, below and to the right of the steering wheel. The panel that comes off has the fuses listed on the reverse side.
Bet it's not the fuse, those switches are a PITA to take out and they fall to bits easily. I reckon you'll need to carefully dismantle your switch(es), clean everything, and rebuild one of them. Watch out for the tiny springs.
