Hi all,

How if atall, can you block the erg valve on the 2.7 and does anyone have a "kit" for it?

Has anyone done this and if so, how does it drive? :thumb2

Remove all together and get some plates made from 5mm plate, and bolt them in place with copper rtv

But also if over 100k Remove your inlet manifold soak in petrol
And steam clean as mine had 5mm thick coating of sludge inside

Oh right it's covered already :doh

My next plea would be to ask if there is anyone on the forum here I could go to once i get my terrano? Put a spanner in my hand and very bad things happen :lol I would like to visit a terrano guru and obviously be happy to part with some pennies for anyones time :thumb2

I am where the m25 meets the a40

as said yours may not have an egr, what year is it? mines a 99 and doesn't have one but the 98 i had before that did have one

Yep same with the mav, current one has one. One before did not.

Oh right. Its an 04 plate? Ill have to wait to have a look.

Could just imagine me searching for hours for one that doesn't exist :lol

TBH I think there is a high chance it'll have one due to all the EU laws:doh but you might be lucky tho. My 55 plate has one sadly so just shoved a ball bearing in the vac pipe like in the down load so hopefully it'll work but might need a slightly bigger bearing

So what is the point of the blanking plates if the ball bearing supposedly does the same job?

From what I've seen the blanking plate method is a ballache and a half

The ball bearing job looks nice and neat and looks like you're in and out in no time :thumb2

The ball bearing will work before it starts becoming faulty

as Fez said ball bearing will work as long as the valve is not leaking, but how do you tell? take it off and suck it, all that I have done this test have failed, so blanking plate is king, Rick

Right that'll be what I'll do then (if i have one to blank)

If I have to pay a competent tech whats a fair price? :nenau

If the plate is good to go, how long is the labour?

do you have a pipe running from the inlet manifold across the back of the engine to the exhaust? if yes you have one if no you do not, Rick

Early days yet, don't pick up until Sunday :D just can't help myself. Already got mods on the brain :naughty
