how did you get the flap out ? and what did you block the spindle hole up with ?

What I did was remove the egr valve completely and then made 2 gasket sized plates (4mm of stainless scrap): 1 I just epoxied to the hole in the intake and the second I epoxied and bolted to the exhaust pipe to the valve. (Some day i am going to try to get to the other end of the pipe and block it off there). At first i simply epoxied the plate on the exhaust, but about 3 weeks later it blew off with a load bang. So I made a third plate and put bolts in as well as the epoxy.:augie Epoxy is JB weld of some equivalent. I used a quick 15 minute epoxy.

The intake butterfly valve is not hard to remove. There are 2 screws that hold the plat to the shaft--remove those and the plate will slide out of the shaft. Then you can simply pull the shaft out. This will leave a hole in the wall of the intake plenum, which I simply filled with epoxy on the inside--later you can file and sand it perfectly smooth. It is very easy to do.:thumbs
