Egr again

If I take my egr off and blank the two ports off on the manifold what do you do with the pipe that comes from the exhaust manifold the smaller pipe

Probably easier to leave it in place. Just fit a blanking piece inbetween the fitting on the underside of the inlet mani , simples :thumbs

Want to take it off totally I have blanked it off but it's only thin plate so would rather do away with it, just want to know what to do with the pipe from the exhaust manifold

I just blanked the manifold side with 4mm plate, and did the same to the end of the small pipe from the exhaust manifold, which I just let hang there. Been fine for a few months so far

When I finally get the engine swapped I want to blank off the EGR,I have put a ball bearing in the small rubber tube,has anyone got any photos of the blanking plate so I can make one and any recommendations for best material,thanks.

Do a search on ebay, "Patrol EGR plate" ... plenty on there.:thumb2

Just had a look on ebay will it fit the terrano as I see there are a few different ones ??

I tapped in the model of my Trol and it came up with one style,easy to fit,cheaper than getting a bit of plate and making one,delivered to France 7.25 euros,well happy.Tap in your Terrano model and you should be sorted:thumb2

The terrano ones are quite tricky to get to by the looks of it, manifold off and a bit more? I must admit I would like to blank mine off but the hassle of getting to it.. :doh

Pity we can't use Star Trek technology and beam it in Scotty. :augie

Imagine, being able to lock onto a glow plug, beam it out, then beam in a new one, no more stripped threads, and no more broken glow plugs.:nenau:nenau

Slight problem with my thoughts though...
by the time we have this technology, we might have improved the engine and eliminated glow plugs....:doh
but hey... my Mav will still be around and might need new glow plugs then... :augie :lol:lol:lol
