Well its been a while since ive been on and actually contributed something to the forum due to my busy work load of normal people needing their reliable cars repaired :augie I wont name and shame... Oh sod it most of them are German in nature and the new ecoshite of the blue oval are going to buy me a patrol shortly :lol. So as a friend of mine has access to quite a large remapping franchise in the uk i thought it would be wrong of me not to use this service to get some more power from the Terrano, but it seems not is all ok as mine is a 2001 it should have an obd socket which it doesn't it has the 14 pin consult plug. So no big deal we can just match that plug to obd so essentially 3 wires, 12v, ground and the k-line to the ecu a few wires and a laptop later we realise that we cant read the software and nothing is happening, problem is I have an older ecu its a Bosch 0281001550. Has anybody on here had theirs remapped with this ecu? It would have to be under 2001 and without an obd as Nissan changed it around this time I really dont want to run a tuning box and im now starting to think about a manual pump or even better possibly trying to run aftermarket management just as an experiment.

First off I know nothing about ecu tuning but I had previously read post by a member timbo_1975 that some of the older ecus cannot be remapped. They have to have the rom changed completley??

Either this will mean something to you or to everybody im talking rubbbish. :lol

i think that is about right like tuning older cars like cosworths and classic imprezas you had to replace the "chip" with a different one with your desired setup or go after market ecu and i don`t think any one developed any chips or after market ecus for these beasts just wouldn't be the market.
i think a maf amp and boost increase is about the best solution

Also got a brand new MAF amp thats never been on a car either that was one of the good ones made by Ray on here

Why am I the forum Delboy :lol

I have a Tunit II for sale if you want. Also consult ecu talk and cables .:D
