ECU Re-mapping

I want to get the ECU re-mapped to get more power when towing and when off road. Has anyone done this and if so, have advice on what to do and not to do?

I have spoken to quantum tuning but they say to do it you need to remove the ecu and change chips so gave up at this point did look at a extra ecu to send them and just swap but that was £200. Hope some one has better luck.

Yes that is correct. I was in the process of getting it done, but getting the ECU out is not easy, there is a retaining screw up above the ECU that is impossible to get to without major disassembly. So far I have not been able to get it out

Once out, the Nissan unit needs a chip change to enable it to be reprogrammed. If you have the later Bosch units, they can be reprogrammed in place.

In theory, the reprogramming gives about 20% more power and I need that when pulling the 3.5 tonnes loaded trailer.
