Dual battery system installed. I did use DBC100K system. http://www.projecta.com.au/
Second battery will connect at 13,4V. Disconect at 12,8V. It works perfect. From second battery i have new cables to socket to rear and to betewen rear seats. 220 Invertor. And CB radio and LCD.

new place for fuel filter:

220V 300W invertor:

voltmeter, 1 position of switch is main battery. 2 position is secnd one

ooh very nice,
ive just added two sockets to the rear area, for fridge ect..

not put cables in for my 150w inverter yet as only got one battery.
can you tell me were you got the big cable from and why you didnt fit the battry in the front on the other side in front of the air filter?

I guess Zippy it's because he can:lol It's a left hooker so no brake servo in the way. Good choice I think:D
Neat install by the way:cool:

yet again WoW, can you tell us how much roughly for this setup please.

oh ther so clever.... just had another look at the pics, the servo is by the air filter, i missed that when i first looked.

Neat installation, have you got a circuit diagram to publish Ondra ?

Just out of interest, has anyone who has installed a dual system put the battery in the boot or elsewhere?

I've been contemplating on board 24v and a second battery for caravanning and at other times, exactly the same reason as Ondra, coolboxing:thumb2

how about a list of the bits you used,
so I can do the same..

ive got the extra sockets in the boot area, i can then change where i get the power from.

also i can leave them on with the fridge pluged in.

I'm gathering the bits together to do kits.

There's a new split charge relay due on the market very soon (I'll be getting early supplies), designed with 4x4's in mind not some caravan thing adapted. I've been trialing one on mine. Proper voltage sensing jobbie with high current capability for big alternators and flat batteries, winches etc. Won't be expensive either.

sounds good to me.

do you know of a battrey box / tray for the front nr side, as mines not flat enought

Excuse typos, using phone for internet, hard work !
Terr, yes 240 or I suppose to be accurate 230 ish. I kicked off a thread a while back on 12v split charge and learnt a lot from it, still turning a lot of the points over in my mind, but the split system will happen at some point.
I would be v interested in the split charger you are contemplating selling .
I am contemplating split charge to a decent rated leisure battery with extra 12v sockets and a built in invertor feeding from it. It would be well used for the vanning and other activities with no worry about flattening the truck battery.
I like the look of the one in the pics as I think I spy a small fuse/distribution panel.

Kit of bits is primarily the battery tray and clamp and fastenings to bolt it down etc. Split charge and wiring I will leave up to different people. In time I'll have the new one available but I have a prototype the production hasn't started so not 100% on time frame for it. Oh and a proper clamp to hold it down - not sure how a ratchet strap would weigh at MOT time over here.

I like the look of the one in the pics as I think I spy a small fuse/distribution panel.

Having looked at Projecta's website etc that is just a spearate aftermarket fusebox, the projecta split charge is just the Black box with the 2 thicker red wires.

Ah well, pics not too clear at the mo, not helped by the fact I've forgotten my specs.

I can answer the battery clamp question. Imho because I have an aftermarket battery fitted by last owner I wasn't convinced the standard clamp was that effective. I asked the mot man and he too had reservations. I asked about ratchet straps and the answer was yes if it secured it properly the structure . Personally I went for a metal clamp bracket which is rock solid didn't take long to fit and cost about £4 if I recall correctly.

Do you stock any kind of battery tray?

What is the advantage of the new product over a leisure vehicle derived one?

Current capacity and general robustness.

Caravan style ones tend to be 30amp max - if you run you're 2nd battery fairly flat a decent alternator can easily put more than that into it. Also if you run lots of auxillaries from your secondary battery with the engine running it will be drawing power from the alternator not the battery, so say you have 4 x 100w spotlights running from the 2nd battery (I have facility for 8 + rear work lights) you will be drawing over 30amp and will blow the fuse (assuming one is fitted). Also when winching you will be unable to draw off both batteries (for extra current) as you will blow the fuse etc. IIRC these new ones are rated at 180amp peak with 120amp continuous.

whats your guess at how much the kit will be? and ideas yet??

Terrano 2nd Battery Tray and mounting hardware should be in the region of £25.

Split charge kit depends on how much end up in it - target price for the relay intself is £40 but wire, crimps etc will obviously put this up.
