Not sure this one will be a debate as much, other than on the extent of any punishment, but it occurred to me reading the other threads on nationality/culture that it would be interesting to see the extent, or otherwise, of peoples feelings on drug dealers and their ilk....

My view? Police should be equipped with nail-studded rubber coshes and authorised to issue on-the-spot 'discipline', then throw them into a ditch to die.

Am I being a bit too soft? :augie

mine clearence duties in afghanistan just wait till get worthwile number (not long round here!) then march em through mine fields save troops getting hurt and makes afghan people happy plus taxpayer saves on benefit claims! my mate used to earn £1200 day selling crack and heroin in leamington hes doing 9yrs now lol!
somebody will be along soon to defend there uman rights lol!

make drug legal and put a heavy tax on it would stop most dealers in their place

but dealers can be looked in 2 ways the ones that push to kids should be hung drawn and quartered. the others should be shipped off to and island some where and left to fend for them selves

agree

its not the intelligent yuppy coke sniffers I object to but the weak and young who are preyed upon. And the law is too weak IMHO. Watched Road Wars last night where they pulled over a Merc ML and found a shedload of cannabis (like a breeze-blocks worth) but couldn't do the driver or the owner as they couldn't prove ownership of the 'gear'. That sucks and something is seriously wrong if you ask me, fair or not.....

My thoughts exactly. It stopped Al Capone's alcohol empire in the prohibition period. 10,000% tax - as the police have to prove you are guilty but if you have a flash car and a big house you have to prove to the Tax man where you got the cash from! And tax evasion, in out tax mad times, is a big offense.

I once visited a drug rehabilitation project (to be trained in their wonderful ways) that gave out free needles as part of their harm minimization initiative. They were saying they got most of the back, blah blah. At the time, i gave them the benefit of the doubt and rounded their returns up to 90% from the 87% they claimed (though how they can tell how any needles are in a sealed sharp safe, destined for the incinerator is beyond me) this still left almost 4000 used needles a week out there on the streets.

So harm minimization for who? not for the innocent non drug using public that's for sure!

ive seen that one its his bosses car or sommat on petrol forecourt?.
they have proceeds crime now they have to prove legitmate money bought the assets like the ml or police can sell it or add extra time if they dont pay figure cps say theyve earnt through drug dealing.
i cringe at those needles dumped in playgrounds etc, you only have to watch grime fighters to see the amount they deal with

yep that was the one. with the copper I started out disliking cos he was a ticket fiend :lol

The other thing that pees me off though is the collateral crime; mugging burglary, car theft etc.. Don't know about others but I've been burgled by a heroin addict and I'd still gladly strangle the little sh1t if I ever got my hands on him 12 years later!

well, I dont like them. Generally they are nasty people who wouldnt think twice about stabbing you in the eye. They are contirbuters to the worlds troubles, they are directly, but not soley, responsible for a huge amount of suffering both here and abroad.

ah but who's to blame the dealers trying to make a pound the user's trying to rob a pound or the pushers that try to make you try it for free

or the countries making it distributing it and making a fortune

All of the first three defo, but is the latter universally true? I mean most of the price hiking takes place en route once its left, say, Afghanistan...the peasants make pennies as far as I am aware.

I may have mentioned this before but my wife teaches oiks in local secondary school.
She had to call plod one day last year as there was a car "dealing" outside the school gates.
Although the handouts didn't have "Drugs" printed in big letters on them, it was reasonable to assume something slim shadey was going on.
Plod said they didnt have time to call out right now can you get the number plate
Brilliant...........................................:doh
If I'd driven past the school at 23 mph I bet I'd have been nicked before the end of the 'king road:(

i worded it wrong meant to be the owner of the drug company not the country as a whole lol

i havnt been burgled by a user, but i have had money stolen by a family member when they were using

you bet!

my sister used to live in a top floor flat on a council estate where the bloke downstairs was dealing for three years, kids and all sorts turning up to his door, and despite dozens of phone calls the police never showed a spark of interest.

Don't tell me he was being investigated all that time either.

We need more coppers, less paperwork and a bit more pragmatism.....

I think proper drugs should be available in Boots etc.
Not the toy town cut to death crap that's on the streets now. Most dullard dealers will cut their wares with all sorts of poison. So risking the health of the addicts even more AND making addicts have to buy even more to get a hit.
People get used to poor quality drugs and every now and again get some good gear and then bloody O/D :doh
So dont get me started on merryjoanna going to class B :splif

it may be a bit different where you are to hear and cornwall when their is a mention of dealing their is a raid within 24hrs of that report, we have had a few just down the road with about 6 vans at 4am

seen the same in several police authorities but there seems to be a wide disparity....this was in the Thames Valley area where they don't always seem so interested.

Probably all freemasons. (Thats to wind up daved LMAO!):p

dell boy school of thought!
drug dealer sells his drugs to addict,he has cash to spend in econemy (plasma, bmw x5 etc),adict robs your house you replace plasma etc claim of ins comp (employ people to sell/deal with your claim) police come investigate/fingerprint (jobs for frustrated nazis) johny scroat traced by fingerprint (forensic science sevice jobs) police arrest johny (police job again) transport him to police station in car(jobs for car workers and oil workers etc) put him infront local beak (judge, solicitors, clerks, probation officers etc) who sends johny to jail for 12mth(transport by group 4 security guards so jobs, wagon, fuel etc) arrives at prison (prison guards,dr,nurse, dentist, probation, vicar, imb all check poor johny over so more jobs) whilst in prison johny does a rehab detox course (dr,nurse, prison guard + drugs comp all jobs) 3mths later a very wise probation officer whos seen johny for ten mins says hes a good boy and can go home on tag (group4 fit monitor tag,bt supply phone line electronics comp siemens supply equipment more jobs) 3 days later johnys back on the gear and has burgled ol mrs pyke down road lol so it all starts again.
if the system worked and little johny and thousands like him was to get clean and get job look at all people whod be outyve job lol
