Well the new rear drop link I fitted lasted well...about 6 miles.
I drove the car around this morning to warm the diff up so that i could change the oil, while I was underneath I noticed that the nut was missing from the ball joint on the new drop link, when I checked, the bloody thing had sheared off
Just about to call the supplier and see what they say on the matter, it wasn't over tight or anything, so will see what they say:(

Where did you get it from.I only buy known branded parts now as the cheap ones are chinese rubbish dont last ,cheaper in long run to buy proper parts

Mine did the same thing, im waiting for a reply still too.

My cheapo front ones lasted 2 months, the metal was ok but all the rubber was knackered. Just waiting for makeitfit to pipe up......

Ebay, £8.75 free p+p, Allcars online, just waiting to see what they have to say. My local garage got one in from Unipart, it cost double but it was delivered and I need it.

how many time really does it take ?

dont buy the drop links off ebay ... someone will kill themselves .
ive had them snap in my hands before , makeitfit will tell you too. they are shite they should be taken off sale , and someone will kill themselves they are that bad

Sorry Dad, won't do it again :bow:bow
Still waiting to hear back, but don't think they are open today:(

just learn from it. we bought upper and lower ball joints track rod ends the lot . i took it all off and started again when id got to the drop links and it snapped then the bolt sheered on the upper ball joint too . absolute shite stuff . i hadnt even finished the build, let alone drive it

only buy that stuff from milners or reputable motorfactors , who will give some reasurance it wont break driving down the road .

Piping up ;)

Someone called :D
I may have mentioned before that if you must drive round with ARBs on then bin the ruddy cheapo ebay type drop links
Fit yourself some nice tasty rose joints instead, piece of piss AND they don't break orff :lol
I did a thread on it a while back:clap

Although, you can buy genuine Nissan from ebay, I have in the past and had no problems.
Like you say, stay clear of cheap shite:thumbs

opps i bought chheap 1's suppose i better get a replacement pair! :( although mines have done a few miles and done a wee bit of off rod playing 2day so might b ok

Must be the luck of the draw:nenau

My rear drop links are the original Nissan ones, and my Mav is nearly 17 years old.

Buy cheap... Buy twice :nenau

But in this case, imagine if the drop link fails as you go around a tight bend on a wet road, you might not be able to buy new ones.:doh:eek:

I changed my drop link, because the ball joint had a lot of play in it, my last Terrano never had any problems with them.

im so sick of this story always popping up, i think now with the enormous fail rate of this automotive parts . someone should follow these up with trading standards or somit.
