Terrano is great, plenty of power, great noise (great looks :augie)

But as of the best part of a year I keep getting this symptom.

From idle sometimes or after resting she is gutless, does not want to pull away, have to over compensate with a huge amount of gas or it will just crawl along before all the power comes in very late...

Same happens sometimes after reversing in a manoeuvre, go to take off and sluuuuuugish... Then boom comes all the power.

It's beginning to get dangerous, I was waiting to turn in front of oncoming traffic, car flashed me to go... So I went.. Terrano did not... Crawled out Infront of them.... Eventually she booted into life...

Also shoe on the other foot I gave her way too much gas as unresponsive and had one of the front wheels in the air :sly :naughty got told off for that one :p

Could be TPS on the way out.
Do a fault code read, it may be stored.

Alex on a genuine note check you're fuel pump cylindrical plug that sits just in front of the Intercooler on the left, I had a mate who drives an 02 LWB and he was experiencing similar issues to you and was having no EML either.

We started the engine and wiggled that plug and the engine starting to idle weird, we then sprayed a bit of contact cleaner into the plug as there was some crud and rusty patches in there, sprayed a bit of GT85 into it and re-fitted and he's never had the problem since.

He was complaining of "kangerooing" in standstill traffic when attempting to pull off and random loss of power whilst driving, I was in it when it did it the once, revs dropped to idle whilst the car was still rolling and then BOOM power was back on, took us a while to figure it out but we got there

Worth a go buddy :nenau

Cheers for the chat Banshee :thumb2

So just to try and clarify things can the sensor be ordered alone for the pedal or must it come with the complete housing and pedal itself? :nenau

If anyone knows I'd appreciate it, werent the early ones different from the late? :nenau

Later ones are slightly different if my memory serves me correctly, just buy the whole pedal assembly and it will just plug in, see now if you were coming to the weekend, I'd have let you borrow my pedal :doh

Next quest is trying to find a replacement? :nenau

only second hand naff ones on fleabay

The symptoms you describe are very similar to an ecu fault that can occur on a DSG (VW). Could it be related to the maf amp and re-map? Hope its just the pedal for your wallet's sake. David.
