every time i switch on side lights driving lights come on i changed the relay but it doesnt help . when i turn on headlights they go out until i go to main beam . does anyone know i if there is another relay which could be faulty its on a 1996 lwb patrol 4.2 petrol

Hi supalot,

I don’t think there is a relay that would cause this, I think you need to look at the switch first and work from there. Have you added any light? spots etc. Just another thought does the fog light switch when operated alter anything.

There was a thread a while back about wiring spotlights on a T2/Mav & this problem happened if the spots got their feed from the N/S .I don't know if this helps

Hi Superlot.
Had similar problem with mine and after a lot of hassle with checking relays, battery conections etc it was the light switch stalk itself. it was sticking a bit at certain points and not making the correct contact, try fiddling with it/cleaning it (I used WD40 to clean it, dried it , then gave it some silicon) , it might just help, it sorted mine out, good luck.

I spent the entire turkey fund on a new light stalk ONLEY to find almost the same problem ie I switch side lights BINGO? no driving lights YIPPEEE i say to my self the turkey was worth the sacrifice. BUT my happiness was as usual sort lived ? I then started the engine and I THINK YOU CAN ALL GUESS WHAT HAPPENED NEXT. your right the driving lights came ON -banghead- IS IT JUST ME . must go now her indoors WANTS TO KNOW TO COOK CRISPS FOR CHRISTMAS DINNER
