So how do you drain the cooling system on the 2.7 automatic?

Water Pump has been leaking for ages so bought pump, belts and anti freeze ages ago but never had time to fit them.

My idea is that I know the anti freeze already in the engine is mixed types so I was wanting to drain radiator as much as possible before refilling with water. Repeat a couple of times to get rid of as much of the old coolant as possible before commencing the water pump.

So how on earth do you get the bottom hose off! It’s tucked away behind the chassis cross member and out of reach from above.

Yes the bottom hose is not the easiest to get two, but do able, thing to remember is you cannot drain the block unless you can get to the drain plug behind the turbo, which you cannot without removing the turbo, Rick

Like Rick says the bottom rad hose will get most of it out.
Remove sump guard and prepare to get a wet arm:lol

Drained my system recently and tried to get the drain block but didnt like the look of all the turbo bolts. I did remove my water pump and when cleaning up I blasted air down one of the water ways and it blew a load out of the other channel.

Now wether thats correct or not still removed alot more water without getting to that drain.
