Just been to take the 2.7td maverick to have the down pipe replaced. However the exhaust place has told me they cant do it because the three bolts will shear off. What are my other options on getting this sorted because the pipe is blowing more than ever. Are the bolts captive?

Cheers Gav

try it and see, if they shear then best to remove the manifold and drill/re tap on the bench, if you have the kit can be done in situ but not easy, the exhaust place cannot be much if they gave you no options, Rick

Cheers Rick very sound advice. No exhaust place just said if they shear that's it cant do anything for you mate.

The exhaust centre is correct, as the likelihood of a stud shearing is highly possible.

They can be extracted and/or drilled out with the manifold in-situ though.

If you are unable to do the job yourself, which I say with the greatest respect, then I would drive down the road a bit further to another exhaust centre.

Regards

Alan

sounds like they don't want the work, find a proper garage.

Took it to another exhaust place they did the job 40mins start to finish well impressed.
