I've been in the same situation mate, in my old Maverick my key blade was so worn that it would only sometimes open the driver and rear door after some persuasion.thanks!
the only bad news is that i have to sacrify the original case, but one of the blades is really really worn, so i'll try with it!

the second key is almost new, so i already used that one to create a copy on the new virgin blades.
I could create as much copies as i want, but i still have only two transponder for the immobilizer, inside the two original keys!
so i'll have to destroy the plastic blade holder of the original worn key to move the transponder to the new flip key, unless i disable the immobilizer!
