Hi All
I have a new to me 2 door 98 Ford Maverick 2.7TD with some strange door locking issues I am trying to solve and need teams opinion where to look next for problem. Sorry for long write-up but need to outline the problem.

Vehicle came with two similar oval 2 button fobs and two ignition keys.
Both keys work in the vehicle and both work the drivers lock. One fob did nothing the other only worked when using the black unlock button, red button did nothing. However on hitting this black button the vehicle unlocked then 2 seconds later locked all but drivers door. I also noticed that using key in drivers door it would unlock but not lock other doors. So firstly I changed the batteries in both fobs, then tried to re-program both fobs. The vehicle appears to go into program mode (flashing hazards) but holding the red then pushing black button 3 times, I ended up with neither fob working at all.

I dismissed the fobs and firstly changed the drivers door lock. The key now locks/unlocks all doors. Having appeared to fixed this, I tried again to re-program fobs but neither respond. I also noticed that on occasion when closing the drivers door the vehicle decides to lock all doors including drivers which seems a new problem or one I have introduced with the replacement drivers door lock.

In taking the drivers door panel off I noted a beige square unit wired in to the door wiring which I assume is the remote sensor assembly.

In summary have I got 2 x duff fobs?
Have I fitted a duff drivers door lock.
Or am I missing trick?

Fob programming, when in progrem mode you have to be quite rapid pressing the buttons.
I would also test the push button switches with a multimeter to male sure the switches are not duff. Might be one of the switches is duff and stopping you program the fobs.
Also I think there are two types of fob, one on 433mhz and the other on a different frequency but cant remember off hand. Rick may have a spare fob you can try, might be worth asking him (solarman).

Thanks for idea I will check out the buttons on the fobs.
