Hi, looking for a little technical help (or pictures :)
Still learning about my 2.7tdi.
I have bought a "Donator" tuning box, off Ebay from Italy, spoke to a couple of people first to get some feedback, and for £100 thought it worth a try.

The Donator Tuning Box that requires being piggy back connected using scotch locks.
There are a couple of similar connectors in close proximity and I need to obviously get the right one.
Do you have a pic or a "layman" terms description of which connector I'm to use.
I have a "red/yellow/black/green wiring to go to the 6/7 wire 8 pin silverplug". (Italian instructions not the best and no pics)

Anyone help ?

Cheers, Mitch

Which ecu type have you got? Is the connection reqd in the engine bay by the fuel pump or piggy backed to the ecu itself?

Tune

It's wired in on the engine bay looking at the one pic on the instructions.
And it's giving me directions to a plug at the side of the deisel pump .
No idea on the ECU :-(

That's me out then , mine is Zexel pump. My tunit also fits on the ecu.
Good luck :thumbs

bosch:thumb2

If Bosch u should have a big round plug above pump take out rubber shelding on the part of the plug which goes away from pump think ur box needs to be connect to the 2yellow wires on ur box u have 1red to battery + . 1 black to ground and the other 2wires i think connect on to the pump plug yellow wires i think hope that helps:thumbs

Tune

Hi Geoff, thanks. That's the large round plug that has a twist lock mech to open, 8 pin ?

Thanks for the help, Mitch

Yes will have pin no.s on the inside

Got it, but...........

Have 4 wires on the box , Red/Yellow/Black/Green

Have 7 into the 8 pin, as expected, a Red/Black/Yellow, but......I have two greens, which both have a Red tracer and one look's to be slightly thicker than the other.

Any ideas ?

Box

Anyone want a cheap Tuning Box, if you can fit it and want a bargain PM me :surrender

Got there in the end

Gave up too soon, the Italian guy at Donator was very helpful.
(and Geoff)
Fitted, tweaked and working well.
Definatly more responsive, a little smokey at first, a few turns and that was cleared. Feel's initially like it's got more grunt, early days.
Pleased eventually, for £90 I can't complain.

Power box VP 37

I had power box fitted at a BMW garage, went in for air con re gasing. The owner said he had just fitted a power box on is brother in laws nissan T2. He said what a difference it made, more power in the rev range. No flat spots its not sold as a fuel saving device. £350 fitted. mine had to be solderd in place some do just plug in under seat.

Mine as wires to + - maff, fuel pump, not many wires.

fitted 7 years now no problem with it
