Since when to MOT testers do that?

Yeah but look at where it is structural.None of that could have been missed on its last M.O.T.

No idea and no idea how much he poked it before showing the pics.
MOT places can't seem to win, too harsh and they are called mean, too lax and they are labelled dodgy.
No it shouldn't look like that in the pics but as I know nothing about the car, owner or MOT station in question there's no real way of knowing what went on. I would be pretty peed off if I had just bought it though.

Personally, I wouldn't have gone public with a title "MOT fraud" then mentioned the vin number or the MOT testing station.

Wow the writer is leaving himself open to all sorts of liable, since the case is unproven, as yet.
I would have hoped that any moderators to the site may have flagged this.
Would this be something within the scope of a moderator?
After all, the " Club" is not responsible for anything written by its members.


Anyone, especially trained in MOT inspection, would have noticed the carpet showing though from underneath, and then I would have thought that an advisory would have been issued, if not a failure.
But the MOT have a get out clause, and state the "Vehicle... at the time of inspection... blah blah..."

Yup the M.O.T only means that the vehicle is only roadworthy,for maybe one hour of the year(Whilst it is being tested)

People passing off dodgy MOT's are playing russian roulette.
VOSA do random inspections and even present 'mystery shopper' cars with known defects to testing stations.
I know this because we were subject to one recently!

It's nice for stations to be a bit easy going but that's taking the piss!
