I'm sure i'm not getting full power from my 99 TDI. I'v cleaned the Maff unit & it seemed alot better on the road but it's slowly went back to how it was  I've been looking through some of the post & there is a lot mentioned about the mini fuel filter & I was wondering if it was fitted to the later TDI's. There has also been talk of the EGR valves which looking at the down loads & looking under my bonnet I don't think i've got 1 or am looking in the wrong place
I've got 2 1/2 months warranty left on my truck & if there is a fault i'm going to try & claim for it on the warranty.
Thanks for any help

I have looked on mine for a mini filter in the past but do not have one; I have the Bosch pump on mine.
Nissan fitted EGR valves on the earlier and later Terranos, I don’t have one of these either, and I think the mavericks don’t have them at all. The easiest way to tell if you have one is by the solenoids located under the air filter housing, if you have EGR then you will have 3 solenoids if you don’t have EGR then there will only be one. These are valves with a vacuum hose and wires attached.
If you suspect the MAF sensor then its best to change it. I take it you will have the Bosch type should only cost £30-£40 and they are prone to failing.

if you do short journeys or drive at low revs a lot, these engines do go to sleep a bit , you will find marked improvement in power after a good boot up the motorway or the like.

mine has filter built into the banjo on top of the pump Its only a short pipe so i took it off and blew it out with an airline a bit of muck came out but nothing to cause concern. As for erg valves some fords have them and some dont have a look on the top of the inlet manifold were it joins the intercooler on the drivers side if there is a throttle type arrangement there you will have a erg valve.

Well after a better look before it looks like I don't have an EGR  The mimi filter I may have to strip down the banjo to have a look which is a job i'm not looking forward to doing  I'm going to dissconect the maff unit on the way to pick up my wife to see if it make any difference :?

Well I disconected the maff & it felt like someone had nicked the engine  So that must be working then
Could it just be me   My last 2 cars could hit 140mph & 0-60 in 7 sec's :p :p

I'm going to do the mini filter after the 3rd of september as I got 150 mile round trip to do to see my Mam on her 60th b/day (they are away in there caravan)
Does anyone know by any chance the size of the copper washer as I think it would be best to replace it when I strip it down. Do you have to remove the power steering pump to get to it or can you get to it with a rachet & bar with the pump in place  Is it comon for the threads in the pump to strip as i've seen a few posts on this :?
Sorry for asking so much, just scared I kill my pump on my TDI  many thanks for any help

I normally aneal my copper washers unless they are badly pitted or totally squashed up, They shouldn't be that bad on the inj pump,

Get a bit of metal wire like an old metal coat hanger,
bend it into a hook, Put the copper washers on it,
Suspend them above an open flame heat them up, (either using a taymer gun or a gas cooker burner) As soon as they turn cherry red then drop them straight into cold water, That softens the copper making them as good as new,

It's much easier to access the mini filter with the power steering pump removed,
Give the bolts a good soaking with penatrating oil, before you start tugging at them,
When you have removed the bolts lob the unit to one side leaving the delivery and pressure feed hoses connected,
