Just have to trip the thread down and tighten it, sorted. might put in a 2nd bolt to keep it stable.

How i did it...

This came out of a m or p reg volvo salon.
Drill through the arm rest foam and plastic inside (about 1cm), i used a 11.5mm thread bolt about 5 1/2 inch long, but 5 inch would fit perfectly.

Cut off the side, bar.

Hack sawed off, then filed down, i used phase tape to pull the foam in so after cutting the bar would be well hidden by the foam naturaly returning to its position.

Drill hole in arm rest

Really i should of don e2 bolts to stop it rotating when my fat mates get out the back, Bit of tape to save the surface.

Cover for bolt.

When the bolt is pushed down to poke through the cover it leaves a dip, so i cut some foam to fit around it...

bit more

then a second piece, to cover it up, although when driving we found our arms on the sides.

Cover

With th ebolt in pull the cover back over once in position slice where bolt is and its ready ti position in the top cover.

In hindsight, i wish i had chosen 2 bolts, and also the size a bit better, As it is i have 1 bolt and i either will have to cut a hole in the cup holder to allow the thread to poke through or find a smaller bolt.

Due to the size of the armrest it will not sit flat to use the cup holders, not that i use it anyway.

:thumbs

Any q's just ask.
