Looks like the strap curls round and bolts to support through the plastic bumper? So remove grille to get access??

From memory I think my tabs on the bar are not low enough

yes remove the grill, if your tabs are not low enough then nothing to stop you adding an L shaped bracket heading downhill and then the U bracket can have a bend on it to correspond, or if already made, weld a similar L bracket facing up, Rick

the holes are already there for the bracket, just remove two of the plastic plugs that secure the bumper to the bumper support, Rick

I've got an old top mounting bracket in the shed, but not sure what it looks like. I will dig it out and post a pic for you.
I'm sure mine bolted to body behind the grill each side of the radiator.

There looks like there are one captive thread (rusted) on the bumper support either side of the radiator, it's just access I have little of. Will investigate further tomorrow.

Difficult to make out from this picture, but I think it is here, circled in yellow.

Looking at the angle of the welded strap, I am not going to get it to go either side of the radiator. Maybe I could use the spot light mounts and some metal strap?

My wifes one runs from those buttons just below your yellow marking, one each side, the U bracket goes down and then forward to the A bar, Rick

OK will look again tomorrow :thumb2

Thanks again.

Fit an extension strap onto the already fitted straps then you can almost secure it where ever you like:thumb2

Snap!!!! Mine used to have a bull bar at some point in it's life as I still have rust marks on the bumper where it once sat

Apart from the obvious, where can I get some 3/4 to inch metal strapping for the A bar ?

Are you posting the pictures on the right thread Rick :augie
