There are quite a few dipsticks on here already....:lol:lol

When I had to buy one for the Picasso, as the original one didn't reach the oil, I looked on ebay, and eventually bought one from the main citroen dealer.
It was £7.00 half the price of ebay.....:doh

So try a quote from there also Ford.

PS the reason the Picasso one didn't reach the oil is 2" broke off the end....

1, I resent the implication :(

2, What happened to your old one?

did it get stuck in the engine??

did it get stuck in the engine??

Picasso dip stick....Yes it did.....

But it is a common failure on the Picassos, having done research, it generally stays in the sump, or comes out with the oil, it is too big to get sucked up the strainer.
It becomes brittle and snaps at the bottom.:doh

Doesn't the dip stick tube come out of the engine block somehow, then you can get to it.

Or if it's not that far down, fishermans disgorgers, or a thin piece of say copper wire with a small bend on the end, use a piece of electrical cable 1.5 mm2 single strand, with the insulation removed.

The other option is to get some thin pipe, like washer fluid pipe, aquarium air line, warm the end so it's soft, shove it down the dipstick hole, it might just go over the end, then you can pull it out. This was suggested on the Picasso forum.......

Failing that turn the motor over and shake it out, as one of our members demonstrated last year.... :lol

As long as you can plug the dip stick tube with the remainder, it should be ok, unless your truck has a habit of consuming oil.

dipstick

er yes still have to get metal part out some good idears to get it out from you lot I like the tip it upside down idear and will try that first !will let you know how it goes roy:confused:

No sure how the dipstick tube goes into the block but just a quick word about it. Near the top of the tube it has a bracket that bolts to the side of the block. This bolt also holds the oil cooler on the side of the block, ensure this bolt goes back as some idiot removed mine and caused me months of worry thinking the head gasket had gone. It caused a water leak that was a right pain to trace.

The dipstick tube screws into the sump just unscrew it and remove the old bit should have one here if makeitfit doesnt
